Welcome to the 11th annual Polar Dash on January 1st, 2018! 1800M, 5K, 10K and Half Marathon. Compete in one of our two CHALLENGES! Yeti Challenge (1800M, 5K & 10K) -OR- Mt. Everest Challenge (1800M, 5K & Half Marathon). Complete the challenge and earn 4 medals (3 distances & 1 challenge medal)! All adult registrations get a fleece, medal and post-race hot chocolate! Register a youth and they get a Polar Dash hat!

**If you are registered for multiple events, but NOT the Mt. Everest & Yeti Challenge...You must wear each timing chip on OPPOSITE shoes.  If you wear more than one timing chip on one shoe, it will not read for the results.




Course Information


Located at Harriet Island in Saint Paul, MN


Half Marathon - The course starts next to the Harriet Island pavilion and heads downriver on the Harriet Island Road, crossing under Wabasha bridge, turning right onto Levee Rd., then right on Fillmore crossing over Wabasha St. continuing on to Water Street. From Water Street the course goes left onto Plato for two blocks, turns around on Plato and then left on to Water/Lilydale, taking an out-and-back on the boat ramp across from Pickerel Lake then out to the Pool & Yacht returning back on Lilydale to Plato. It takes a right on Plato and then a left onto Water Street, joining the 10K course where it goes out turns around for a second loop out on Lilydale turning around before the Pool & Yacht club to finish near the Pavilion on Dr. Justus Ohage Street. 10K - The course starts at the Harriet Island Pavilion and heads down the river on Harriet Island Road, crossing under the Wabasha bridge, turning right onto Levee Road.  Runners take a right on Fillmore crossing over Wabasha Street and continuing on Water Street.  From Water Street, the course goes right onto Plato and left on to Water/Lilydale.  Runners will stay on Water/Lilydale for the remainder of the race, turning around near the Pool & Yacht Club.  Runners will finish near the Harriet Island Pavilion on Dr. Justus Ohage Street. 5K - The course starts at the Harriet Island Pavilion and heads down the river on Harriet Island Road, crossing under the Wabasha bridge, turning right onto Levee Road.  Runners take a right on Fillmore crossing over Wabasha Street and continuing on Water Street.  From Water Street, the course goes right onto Plato and left on to Water/Lilydale. Runners travel about 1 mile on Water/Lilydale and then back on the path adjacent to Lilydale, finishing near the Harriet Island Pavilion on Dr. Justus Ohage Street. (Click here for course map)

Awards


Awards for the 10K and Half Marathon will be mailed out 4-6 weeks following the race.  

  • Awards will be given for the Top Overall Male and Female Finisher.
  • Awards will be given to the Top Male and Female Finishers in each of the following age groups:  0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+
  • Overall winners will not be eligible for age group awards.


Weather Policy


During Monster Series events there is always the potential for extreme or severe weather conditions (for example lightning, tornado, high winds, extreme hot or cold temperatures, blizzard, etc...). Monster Series will do as much as we can to make the experience as safe as possible.  But if there is severe weather, the race may be delayed as race officials consult public safety officers.  If there is more than a reasonable delay, or if conditions persist, race officials reserve the right to shorten or cancel the race.  Entry fees are non-refundable.  Please check the website and your email before the race for any changes or cancellations.  If you are already at the event, listen to the announcer about any weather changes that may occur.
